Qualcomm is one of the most important Android companies. The Californian company is today the one with the most presence in the mobile processor market, which means that the evolution of Android is linked to its developments and has important partnerships with the largest Android manufacturers. Xiaomi’s new mobile will use a Snapdragon that has not yet been presented.
The last two processors that Qualcomm presented were the Snapdragon 765 and 865, the first being a mid-high-end model and the second the most powerful processor in the company. It seems that there was a new Snapdragon on the way, and it has been unveiled by Xiaomi.
Xiaomi’s new smartphone will have a Qualcomm processor that does not exist yet
The relationship between Qualcomm and Android manufacturers is very close, so much so that Qualcomm knows before anyone else what the next mobile devices will be (and a few months ago it leaked mobiles with Snapdragon 865 that do not yet exist). Today we know a similar circumstance but in reverse, and that is that Xiaomi has revealed a processor that does not yet exist.
Redmi plans to present a new variant of the Redmi K30 5G, mobile that we met at the beginning of the year. This new mobile would be called Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition, a mobile that has the presentation date of May 11, 2020.
The mobile would include the same characteristics of the original Redmi K30 5G, but varying the processor and using a Snapdragon 768G, a processor that to this day has not yet been presented by Qualcomm.
The normal thing here would be to think that it is a typo of the page that has detailed the specifications and that it would finally use a Snapdragon 765G, but then there would be no reason to launch this mobile, since it would be identical at the level of specifications.
It is not the first time that a company presents a mobile with a processor that has not yet been presented. Xiaomi itself a week ago globally introduced the Redmi Note 9 with MediaTek Helio G85 processor, which was introduced several days later.
Without knowing more information about the Snapdragon 768G, given its nomenclature it is likely that it is a more polished version of the 765G, with the same architecture but at a higher speed. On May 11 we will leave doubts.
